Founded by Chef Mark Bartle and Kimberly McLellan, 1578 is the culmination of their many years of hospitality experience.  

A graduate of the renowned Culinary Institute of America, Chef Mark has held the position of Executive Chef in fine restaurants and resorts in New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Mark's classical training, decades of experience, extensive travel and passion for local flavors leads to truly remarkable cuisine.

Kimberly Mclellan, brings decades of coastal Maine hospitality and design experience to the Patio @ 1578.  A graduate of the University of Vermont and a native Mainer, Kim's eye for event design and attention to detail are an essential part of the 1578 "recipe".   Kim works closely with our clientele  to ensure their catered event, ocean front retreat, party or family gathering is beyond compare.
